Order No. 166/2025-XXV – Invoice Submission (SAF-T PT)
The Portuguese Tax Authority published Order No. 166/2025-XXV (22 December 2025), which exceptionally extends the deadline for submitting December 2025 invoices to 9 January 2026, without any surcharges or penalties.
Under the general rules, companies are required to submit invoices to the Tax Authority via the SAF-T (PT) file through the Finance Portal by the 5th day of the month following the invoice issuance.
The order explains that this deadline extension aims to facilitate compliance with tax obligations and ensure the accuracy of the reported information.
Note: Companies should plan the submission of the SAF-T file for December 2025 accordingly, ensuring that all invoices are submitted correctly by 9 January 2026.
